    Though I'm my case there's an EBB which simply doesn't provide enough adjustment when used alone. But I love the floating ring so much I'll keep it even when chain stretch allows me the remove a link and adjust only with the EBB (it's probably at that point already).

    It's a 53t Dura Ace 7400 ring but I'm keeping my eyes open for a comedy 55-60t ring to use instead, just as a willy-waving exercise. I can adjust the EBB to use any large ring. Anyone selling a dinner plate please do holla!

    If you were using ⅛" chain, you might be interested in the 65T TA Cyclotouriste that's sitting in my parts bin.
    For serious comedic effect, while not a strict geometric solution, any arbitrary curve of constant width should function as a ghost ring since some degree of backlash is necessary at some points in the rotation of any non-unity ratio chain drive in order to accommodate chordal action
