  • Looks like a lot of fun

  • It really is. The picture is crap, I promise I'll take some better ones when the bikes in it's intended configuration.

  • Seabass just finished (re) building my Serotta, need to find somewhere safe to put it until next year: https://www.instagram.com/p/CGPeivpFW9H/?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet

  • Very very good. Shallow carbon rims are * chef's kiss *

  • They're essential if you want to keep your tan wall tyres looking good - alloy rims will shed black goopy grime, and it's all about looking good. Not that I ride on the road anymore, but maybe I'll start again next year.

  • Ok, what have I missed/forgotten?

    Frame: Pace RC529
Fork: Cane Creek Helm, Internet bullying special edition
    Headset: Hope
    Stem: Pace RC46
    Bars: Renthal Fatbar Lite
    Brakes: Magura Trail SL
    Shifter: XTR 12 speed
    Mech: XTR 12 speed
    Chain: XTR 12 speed
Crankset/BB/Ring: 165mm XT, XT BB, 32T XT ring
    Pedals: DMR Vault
    Seatpost: Fox Factory Transfer 175mm
Dropper lever: Wolf Tooth Magura fit
    Rear skewer: DT Swiss RWS
Wheels: Hunt Trail Wide, Nobby Nic/Magic Mary/Rimpact inserts/Magura Storm rotors/XTR cassette
Grips: DMR Deathgrips (because I don't learn)
Rear brake adapter: Lifeline 180mm IS to post adapter
    Saddle: SMP Composite

I think I need a front brake calliper adapter to accommodate the 203mm rotor, what else have I missed?

  • If you've not already ordered the Lifeline adaptor, I think it's worth getting a Shimano one. Not sure if it's in my head but the Lifeline one seems a bit flexy (in installation, can't detect in usage).

  • I couldn't find a shop that had the Shimano one, but not adverse to ordering one with the front adapter that I still need.

  • We’re struggling to get Shimano adaptor since July, the main issues of aftermarket one is that it may not be 100% flat.

  • Grips: DMR Deathgrips (because I don't learn)

    Brakes: Magura Trail SL ...

  • Hey, the Magura's are now (crosses fingers) working really well.

I've just ordered a pair of Shimano adapters from SJS, along with a Ritchey Breakaway brake cable adapter for the travel bike, because that's the kind of stuff SJS has.

  • Interestingly the chap who answered the phone at SJS said "is this going on a Pace frame", which was somewhat spooky.

  • Possibly https://www.lfgss.com/profiles/135003/ who has sneakily made himself non-taggable

  • Hunt Trail Wide

Didn't you get reserve wheels? Whats happening with them?

  • They're being saved for racing the EWS next year

  • Didn't you get reserve wheels? Whats happening with them?

They're on the 295, I've kept the same size brake rotors so I can swap them between the bikes.

  • They're being saved for racing the EWS next year

I can't recall the name of the "turn up and race" series - EWS 100 maybe? I'm going to try to get to (and race at) at least one of those next year. Someone has to come last, in a beautiful location with great food - I'm prepared to make that sacrifice.

  • On the other pace. Do try to keep up

  • I rode the 295 over to Rat Race Cycles this morning in order for them to finish off the brakes, and was absolutely owned by a lady on a step-through with a basket on the front who didn't happen to also have Minion DHF's.

  • Is she also entering the EWS?

  • Ah I thought that was the parts list for the 295

  • Is she also entering the EWS?

I couldn't keep up, so the chances of catching her to ask were limited to her getting a mechanical, which didn't happen.

  • Ah I thought that was the parts list for the 295

TBF it's very similar, and I'm planning on swapping the wheels back and forth (plus the ones off the Scalpel).

  • Boom
