  • Last time I was there she had some rabbits she let me cuddle

  • Yeah, Elaine is in Turkey and having the shop repainted. Moving the counter as well.

  • Anyone get a similar message from these clowns in their letterbox?

  • yeah absolutely - which makes you wonder why these chumps aren't encouraging more people to cycle... maybe the clue's in their name.

  • Yeah i got one, didn't join the rebel alliance

    https://www.abd.org.uk/press-release-bojo-turns-the-nanny-state-into-the-bully-state/

Changes to the Highway Code such as overtaking cyclists and cyclists riding two-abreast are clearly intended to obstruct motorised traffic, which will allow prioritisation of the judgement of cyclists, who aren’t required to pass any test, over drivers who are. The High Street, the economy and those who can’t or don’t want to cycle will clearly suffer from policies being driven by the unrepresentative cycling obsessed few involved in advising the government. ‘Cycling and walking’ is a sound bite, not a credible transport policy for moving goods and people around the UK.

  • standard gammon.

  • ha! its slightly more convoluted(?) than that. I mean ABD can fuck off (climate change deniers, 5G conspirers).

The research has shown that LTNs do work, it takes time for traffic to dissipate but they work. Obviously people are impatient and absolutely hate when 30 seconds are added onto their journeys in cars.

There are more people driving at the moment mainly because of the pandemic (perhaps to avoid public transport) and the menial reasons like its cold/raining.

We (on here types) should back these IMO. They are a good thing and change has to start somewhere and we have to give them more time.

If you are following this on social media etc. have a look at Wandsworth, they reversed the LTNs and the traffic is the same/worse.

The idea is to make the car journeys more difficult in order to discourage them. Then the roads are less congested for people who actually need to drive.

  • I'm onside.
I used to live near that bit of tooting that was an ltn but now isnt. It's tough.

Its tough, they work, but to not recognise the harm it causes when traffic builds up in other parts it's not disproportionately affecting people in the poorest parts of boroughs or affecting people doing jobs in the gig economy in vans, misses a trick. This is where more help in moving delivery vehicles to electric, buying less etc and so on, will help. And needs to be delivered from central / local.

  • This is IMO a fallacy that LTNs are for Dulwich mums.
They work for everyone, it is a vicious cycle break.
I currently live on a road that has seen increased traffic due to LTNs.

    What would you suggest otherwise?

  • ok now buy my eBike

  • standard gammon.

If you want gammon, I will give you gammon (the replies).

  • i was banned from twitter years ago.

    executive summary?

  • ha! its fine, nothing you wouldn't have seen, usual gammon fuckery.

  • I am trying to! I need to balance some cash flow/ sell more organic cocaine/ perform in another ethical porno.

  • ethical porno.

  • It has to be. I can't risk a psoriasis flare after taking a big load.
