On the other hand, we can start a Ineos Vuelta leadership discussion

That's a horrible way to come off. Looks like he landed straight on his hip, so know wonder he struggled. God know's how he finished the day. Will be very impressed if he finishes the giro frankly.

All eyes on Froome, then a Carapaz sneak attack.

Movistar: three is definitely the maximum number of potential GC riders a team can have at a race
Ineos: Hold my cerveza -

Finally catching up on the Lance doc on the iPlayer.
The inclusion of some post crash tv footage of the Casartelli crash was a bit unnecessary wasn't it?
-
• #27558
Was that rolled in with the ‘peloton as fast as a high speed train’ hyperbole, talking up the danger of the sport?
I thought it was a pretty interesting doc. It made me want to know more about Ullrich’s story.

It's a great documentary. Made me laugh as 2/3rds through its like 'Lance isn't that bad, he's had a bit of a rough deal' and then it just rolls out what he actually did and said about people. Oh yeah, total psychopath.
And he can sleep at night just fine. Good stuff Lance.

Thought the same. Of all the crashes to show

Why doesn't Rob Hatch pronounce Geraint Thomas in a welsh accent?
He seems to adopt his 'Allo 'Allo 'Good moaning' accent when pronouncing Geraint Thomas. As opposed to the Klingon accent for Fillipo Ganna.

Just watched the highlights. I'm still in awe of Steven Kruijswijk's shoulders. It's like he's teleported in from the 1980s and is rocking some serious shoulder pads.

Looks that way. Wouldn't be the first time. I've lost a few bidons in my time over bumpy surfaces. Current score is 'Lostonbumps United: 8. Droppedwhiletryingtoputbackinbottlecage Town: 1'.
Maybe they should make King Cages bottle cages mandatory in the peloton on safety grounds?

Quite. I've fallen like that twice now, albeit at rather slower speeds. In both cases I could hardly walk, let alone cycle.

Lance doc gets another vote from me. I think it's brilliant. From the first words
"Don't trust him, he's entirely capable of manipulating everything to his own ends. Even down to you being here talking to me"It's brilliant. I love a good psychopath.

Hearing rumours that Thomas has withdrawn this morning but can’t find any confirmation.

It’s been registered officially now so fines are double

I'd wait to hear it from Ineos directly, these rumours always happen. One guy says "he'll probably withdraw", the one that hears it tweets "he'll withdraw".

.. if the UCI worried less about sock height and enforced mandatory Arundel Mandibles instead this would never have happened.

Alpecin Fenix team is where it wants to be now - 12th in UCI teams ranking and 1st of ProContinental - thanks to a certain hyped rider's raking in of UCI points over last weekend.

La Gazzetta are reporting the same. probably quite reliable given they are the headline sponsor

Confirmed now. Nothing broken though - Wrong! (But also reports of fractured hip so \¯_(ツ)_/¯ )

Broken hip :(
Definitely winced looking at that.
Fell in a similar way last year, lucky to not break collarbone, though very close.
Didn’t feel right for months.
