Lightbicycle are all boring UD matte these days it seems.
Where's the 3k twill at?
-
• #8578
They offer in alternative the Shutter precision too.

Yea I like it's size and weight but it does have massive drag.

Isn't it just the Falcon Pros that are UD only? The normal Falcon ones seem to be available in 3k still.
-
• #8582
3k for the retro points?
-
• #8583
Looks like it yes.
Although plain 3k and I think I fancy a twill pattern with the zig zaggy weave as seen on Mavics -
• #8584
3k for not being dull

What is the braking like on the LB rim brake versions? Toying with the idea of getting some.
They make claims about being good up until high temps, but anyone know what does that mean in practice?
-
• #8586
Means that unless you live in the mountains you’ll be absolutely fine.

Where's the 3k twill at?
btch plz. 6k 2x2 or 12k spread tow
-
• #8588
The more expensive option is in my experience a bit better in the wet. The non basalt is fine though.
-
• #8589
The options currently are basalt or graphene grooves (or something).
Basalt is good. I’ve not tried the grooved rims. It looks like they’d just eat pads.

6k 2x2
That’s a bit Vauxhall Astra spoiler for me
12k spread tow
12k can stay in the 2000s
-

Why are they (Light Bicycle) branding themselves ‘Falcon’ now? It sounds so shit.
-
• #8592
In the dry the grooves don't seem to eat pads..I don't generally ride them in the wet but yeah, I imagine they eat pads.

What if I just visit the mountains?
Any reports of delamination or other nasty things happening, or have they fixed that nowadays?
-
• #8594
Nope

• #8595
btch plz. 12k 2x2 or 24k spread tow
I can’t count
-
• #8596
Thanks, good to know.
is it approaching aluminium in the wet or still a bit sketchy? -
• #8597
I have the basalt brake tracks from about 3 years ago. A little sketchy in the wet, tbh. Taken them to the mountains a few times with no issues.
-

I’ve never understood the strength of argument that they brake poorly. I’m on my 5th set from Farsports and all have braked very well with Aztec carbon pads.
-
• #8599
I’ve got the basalt rims, braking superb. I notice the new LB wheels say ‘grooved graphene surface’ If its the same then great, eats lifeline blue pads though

Four sets went under Fiats on holiday?
I am more surprised by the SON hub.
