• What is the build quality like if you get Light Bicycle to build the wheels rather than buying rim only and having them built by a decent LBS/wheel builder?

  • I've had 2 sets of wheels built by Lightbicycle and they've both been dead true out of the box and I've had no issues with either. When pricing it up I found it cheaper to get them to build rather than to source the parts myself.

  • I’ve checked over one pair of new Light Bicycle road wheels and they’re good. They seem fairly even-tension and seem properly de-stressed. Spoke aren’t wound-up. The blades face as-they-should. To my rookie eyes they seem ok. No pinging when ridden etc.

I have some 46mm rims of theirs on my own road bike. They’re excellent. They don’t have the grooved brake tracks but still braking is good. The LB brake pads are fine.
