I only buy if there is a PayPal option.

I don't think the shops get your card details, from what I've understood AliBaba keeps your money in escrow until you've confirmed receiving the order.
-
• #8531
You're giving your card details to Aliexpress, not the seller so it's as safe as anything online is.

Decided against it and bought some aluminium rims.

Has anyone on here bought bar tape on Alix and been happy with it?
-
• #8534
Yes and no.
-
• #8535
Feel like linking to the yes category?
-
• #8536
Technically the right answer would have been no, the yes was to the first half. It was a tearing mess for me, but I was in the lower end of the market.

Anybody got any experience with the Yoeleo H9 integrated bars? Very little info out there, but they are $185 and you would hope the quality is on a level of their wheels.

Stiffness seems good here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rzWz_82gvzo&ab_channel=ozcycle

Have bought wheels from China before but not massively clued up on frames. Where should I be looking other than Hong Fu? Is there a way of knowing what branded frames they are copies of? Any other advice/threads that would he helpful would be much appreciated. THANKS

I have an ICAN which has been my best bike for 5 years. It's done 2 x TCR and 1 x IndyPac + loads of other stuff.
Have ordered replacement hangers a couple of times

Another vote for ICAN. Carbonda are also good. I tend to steer clear of the blatant knock-offs merchants.

Thanks both. Will check them out

Mine turn!
If I wanted to go full hipster slave and buy 88mm deep rims, are the Chinese ones on ebay OK?
I would be riding on them quite regularly round RP. Soooo a decent on each lap.
What's ppls thoughts?
What's the most likely thing to fail? And how soon will it take? Weeks? Months? "They're fine! Don't stress it"?

are you going to use brakes?
-
• #8547
Yes! A lot... I have "momentum" i need to stop
-
• #8548
I'd look at these: https://www.lightbicycle.com/88mm-deep-carbon-700C-26-54mm-wide-road-rim-clincher-U-shape-tubeless-available-with-grooved-graphene-brake-track.html
LightBicycle is the highest quality stuff at par with Zipp/Enve. The basalt braking surface makes a big diff.
IIRC @HoKe had them.

I've also got these rims (albeit only ~50mm ish)
I'm 88kg and have been impressed by stopping performance, very comparable to alloy but I haven't used them in the wet.

Geared or fixed?
I use debit card, remember its the biggest ecommerce business in the world. I'd trust it more than ebay/paypal.
