a week and a day into the season some teams have played twice, yet citeh haven't even had their first game
wtfigo
Does seem a bit weird. And not evenly applied. Teams who played in the Community Shield for example.

spurs southampton keeping the average goals per game above 5 over the weekend

Is the average goals per game post lockdown higher than the 5 year average?

good performance in the end, first half was a bit dire from both teams, chelsea were quite defensive, but after the rugby tackle we took control and it was a bit one way traffic,
thiago looked good, gerrard - esque passing

This football season seems good. Would be nice to have a go at it at some point.

What, and jeopardise your unbeaten status?

You havent played yet but I reckon Grealish is still most fouled player so far

Are you actually comparing Thiago with Gerrard? Thiago is miles and miles ahead. Best team won today, no complaints.

the rugby tackle changed everything

It’d be an offence in rugby as well.
The first goal was straight out of the peak Barça/MSN playbook. Beautiful play that was and Mane’s header was just perfect.

to be fair thiago beat an all time passing record in the premiershit for the 45 mins he played yesterday, with 75 passes completed in the 2nd half, but i'd still rate gerrard as an equal, he could put a ball right on torres's toes from anywhere on the pitch, ferocious in the tackle and scorer of worldies,
i haven't seen many better, i'd be happy for thiago to prove me wrong though

Thiago is miles and miles ahead.
Really? Passing maybe, but Gerrard is one of the best midfielders in Premiership history, slip or no slip. Thiago has played 45 minutes.
The Premiership was also a very different league during Gerrard's very best years, but he was able to adapt as the style of football changed.

when i said chelsea were a bit defensive in the first half didn't expect them to be this defensive, mourihno - esque, maybe they were planning to attack in the 2nd half.... but the sending off put a spanner in the works
chelsea and liverpools first half average positions

Isn’t that textbook formation when playing a much bigger club with a history of success?
-
• #154193
Of course I'm not judging him on his time at Liverpool. The guy has literally won everything there was to win in both Germany and Spain, multiple times over. He's a complete different player of course but he's incredibly effective. If it wasn't for Xavi and Iniesta I'm sure he would've stayed a lot longer at Barcelona than he eventually did.

Rep
City got an extra week off because their European campaign finished late.
I think the fact the play Monday is just a vagary of the scheduling to allow every game to be televised.
I don’t think anyone need worry about City this season. Unless they make some signings, it’ll be another year of going backwards. It wouldn’t surprise me if they finished third or fourth. Guardiola will be on his merry way.
