I mean, I’m fully aware of quality issues like paint, panel gaps, trim fitment etc. It makes up nearly 50% of posts on uk forums for the Model 3.
I definitely don’t care about those problems unless they stop my ability to drive the car, especially as I’m only leasing this one for two years.
I honestly don’t see any many fault posts on M3 forums as I do on Velar forums for the current car, or even R1250 forums for my motorbike but maybe that’s outweighed by the fanaticism that seems to follow Tesla.
I guess I’ll find out next month. Can’t get rid of the Velar until Oct 16th or face a tax bill but it’s gone ASAP after that.

The customer experience matters a lot too. Again, using my parents. They loved Ford, and they're fiesta even though it had constant issues and recalls. But their local Ford dealer handled it quickly, did things like ad a bonus year of warranty etc. So they were happy and no negative feelings. Same again for Toyota, my folks are happy because Toyota handle it well. I suspect Tesla is the same coupled with very enthusiastic customer type means their sales won't be impacted by recalls.... Until regular car manufacturers catch up and offer better build, better reliability etc.
Should say too, I think it's amazing how Tesla have gone from zero to making proper cars in such a short time. It's impressive and a few stumbles are only normal.
Just thought about your responses some more. Your opinion is actually pretty useful. I.e maybe indicating that lots of people who buy Tesla don't believe that there is a quality problem with them. The older models at least. Apparently things have got a lot better.
