The reliability figures I am using are based on surverys and interviews with 14,000 Tesla, Toyota (and other brand) owners so would capture things not logged by Toyota.
I know two people who own Teslas who have had a series of serious faults with their cars but I don't point to that as evidence of anything becasue its anecdata and only a sample size of two.

Just thought about your responses some more. Your opinion is actually pretty useful. I.e maybe indicating that lots of people who buy Tesla don't believe that there is a quality problem with them. The older models at least. Apparently things have got a lot better.

A few stories? ~40% of Tesla owners have to have their car repaired in the first three years of ownership due to something breaking! Compared to 13% for a Toyota.
