Sadly, that old fiat isn't exactly environmentally friendly. Probably not much better than the Grenadier depending on the engine size and fuel. Unos from the 80s could be not far off 180g/km of co2 brand new, never mind after 30-40 years of running.
In reality, if you need a "proper" off-roader for work or because you live somewhere remote etc, then maybe the Grenadier is a good car. If, as we all suspect, it's targeted at suburban school runs, it's madness.

That doesn't take into account the environmental impact of building a new car vs. keeping an old one in the road though. I'm pretty sure I read that the Grenadier's parts are built all over the place and then flown in to be assembled Portugal. The Panda's CO2 emissions would have to be monumental to offset that.

Not Uno but Panda, most likely with Fire 999cc engine, CO2 @ 138 g/km, which I doubt that 4x4 monster will ever achieve unless fully electric - had one of those for 6 month while working in Sicily . Scariest descent ever in either car or bike from top of Mt Etna with 4 people in, brakes smoking...
