  • Citroen don't make one but ZOE or leaf.

  • The Ami is what, 6500€? Paired down, just the thing for no frills, short distance travel. Both the Zoe and Leaf are in a class above. I'd like to see a similarly low cost 4 seat option.

  • Eclectic mix of spots again this week, a 1934 Rolls. Nice to see one not on wedding duty and running boards are always cool. It looks like it was styled, and then someone said 'where's the luggage go?...ah shit, we'll just bolt a chest on the back, no one will notice'.

Nicest Alfa Spider I've seen in ages, loving the green exterior and black interior combo.

And this is another addition to my niche collection of rear light porn :)
A 1972 Cadillac deville, 7.7 litre V8 barge. I'd love one of these converted to electric, maybe not a daily driver in London tho.

And this last one is straight into the anti-porn rear light category. Nice 1600 GT Capri, car looks great from the front/side, but what the hell happened to the rear lights, looks like some old American cars lights or some old Datsun cluster just slapped on, lob on lost.

  • The Ami is already at the weight limit for quadricycles. If the four seater version weighed any more it would have to be classed as a car with all the extra rules that entails.

  • "And Papa Johns is the fourth emergency service of the apocalypse."

    Amazing.

  • It’s funny because it’s true.

  • Good point. I didn't have a long look, but am confused by the legislation, both France and UK rules states a quadricycle can't be >350kg, yet the Ami is 485kg with battery.

  • Rear wiper jet on the 320d isn’t coming out the nozzle, but instead producing a stream of water from the gap between the rear windscreen and top of the boot, where the red line is. Anyone know how to access it/reconnect the nozzle?

  • Tibetan Orange indeed.

  • Also, any tips for touching up a big scratch? Any kits that are worth buying?

Also, anything to help restore the black plastic on the exterior as it’s all quite faded. Probably going to give it a proper good clean - are there any products I can use to help protect the paint?

  • Yep that’s about it, I had the same issue (E61).

  • If it’s a big scratch, you might be better looking for a local mobile spot repair guy, I had a scuff done on my driveway (on a dark metallic colour) and it was reasonably cheap

There’s various black trim restorer products, You can also run a heat gun over the surface on some trim panels to revive the blackness

  • it was reasonably cheap

It's a big scratch that the previous owner has tried to touch up and obviously abandoned halfway through - which annoyingly probably makes getting it right a harder job.

What was "reasonably cheap"? Hard to gauge in this thread from poster to poster!

Also fell down the scratch repair rabbit hole on youtube. Lots of 20 min+ videos and varied opinions. And then I'll have to clean and polish the fucker, which seems like a complete ordeal in itself!

Look at Ceramic coatings for the plastic. If not then Chemical Guys VRP is supposed to be very good.

  • The capri is a SA import and lives near Catford. The guy who owns it is really in to his classic cars and always up for a chat.

  • Looked at one, think the photo is on this thread, in a supermarket where it was for sale.

Looks like a toy car made of plastic and I thought it was an childs toy car.

  • Have repaired scratches in cars and motorbikes and it took ages with fine brushes then sanding then polishing.

Quite fancy getting the dent removal tools as it looks satisfying to remove the dents.

EDIT: Seems odd that the dealer didn't have a dent and paint guy come and repair the car. Most decent second hand car dealers have a chap who comes and does all the the new stock.

By the time you've bought the touch-up paint, the lacquer, the polishing compound and the kit to use it properly, it'll be cheaper to get a professional to do it for you, and they'll do a better job.

  • Although if it was me then, unless it's down to bare metal, I'd leave it and consider it to be 'patina'.

  • 739hp

  • Volvo lump with a fuck-off turbo or V8?

  • This is true. But the car was only £2600 in the first place. And it seems like it shouldn't be impossible. It's also driving me insane trying to get any info out of youtube as car washing and scratch repair seems to be a particular niche that is in such demand all the videos are 25 fucking minutes long.
