Will be interesting if the Alaphillipe group gets within striking range

Nobody deserves anything this is the Tour de France; come on Hirschi.

• #854
gap coming down... slowly... alaphilippe group is so ragged though
-
• #855
Hopefully Roche can do a good spoiling job. It's a pretty big group to get organised

• #856
gap holding now. looking good

Flip winning is the worst possible outcome of this stage.

Think he’s got this now.

Brilliant.

Excellent win, well deserved and good tactics from Sunweb to engineer the opportunity.
-
• #863
Lol. He’s clawed back 2:30 on GC today. Only about an hour to get, but loads of opportunities to come to do so.
-
• #864
Still an hour and 4 mins or so. But if it was easy then it wouldn't be a 500/1 bet.
-
• #865
Happy about that. Top work.
Great to see a plan executed so well. Just enough of a gap to actually enjoy crossing the line without staring over your shoulder... and bricking it.

I wonder how much closer Alaphilippe would've got if he learned to ride his bike in a straight line
-
• #867
The problem of being a swashbuckling rider who wins with panache.

i'm really sad that there's still heat between mark simon cavendish mbe and peter sagan slovak sportsperson of the year 2013, 2015, 2017 ;_;
-
• #869
Are you saying both have to find other ways to find form?
-
• #870
He definitely deserves a stage win, given his performances so far in the race.
I really like his style. Good head on his shoulders too
-
• #871
i just get very nervous when i hear about conflict
-
• #872
Given today's finale, i suspect it will be won by a Slovenian

I'd say the Columbians might have an advantage here? Last 2km are consistently steep.
Anyone not on top form to be burnt off on the first ramp.Of course if the Slovenians are in the group at the top, they'll sprint.
If Roglic goes deep to sprint for the bonus seconds, might be an opportunity for others to counter attack and try and drop him? -

Roglic seems to be at his best in medium mountains with rampy finishes, but agreed anything could happen and we will likely see quite a few of the current top ten shelled. I suspect it may even happen for quite a few on the ramp in the first half of the climb
Uphill finish I think, which means he really needs to judge his effort.
