Would you like the bad news first?

Shoot.

Chances are slim

is your last name Glowinski?

Chances are slim
A man can dream.

Just gonna kill two birds with one stone -
Take the brakes off.

If you had the opportunity to WFH for a couple of months in the alps for late season mtb (Ie now) / early season skiing...where would you go?
Verbier. Early season skiing is better in Zermatt, due to the glacier, but MTBing is better in Verbier. Or Les Diablerets.

I’m very familiar with that run, you need fairly high speed coming in, but that’s easy as the entrance is near the bottom of a steep fire-road.
What you need, therefore, is total confidence in the air, and probably most importantly total confidence that you can make that big right hand berm - it’s very steep coming into that, and there are a number of drop offs in the section of trail just proceeding it that the chap in the video blitzes, the G he pulls in that corner is very impressive.
So jumps and turning- not super complex, but right after that first berm is where a chap (fully kitted out with DH bike) won a trip in a medical helicopter when I was out there.

Also, it looks to me like that video has been sped up a little... still impressive riding though.
-
• #18062
Does look sped up doesn't it. We've been had FFS.
-
• #18064
Looking good!
-
• #18065
I'm itching to build it and hit the trails!
Still need to buy brakes and the wheels to turn up!
-
• #18066
Has a nice compact look for a big frame

Looks sick, hoping I hear something soon as my order-partner is chomping at the bit to cancel and just buy an OTP hardtail so he can ride it before the week is over.

Got my tyres.
29x2.4" Cunti Trail Kings
Rear mounted first go using compressor without sealant. Front will need some persuasion later tonight.
They look the biz imo

Got those in 2.6 flavour for my nephew and was impressed with them in the hand
-
• #18070
Yeah seems much nicer than my Ardents actually. Also made in Germany makes me feel good
-
• #18071
I have Ardents too. Haven't had any crashes because of them but they don't inspire confidence in the turns. I just wanted that yellow Maxxis logo to fulfill childhood dreams
-
• #18072
I got them in tan wall which looks pretty fake
-
• #18073
Anyone London based got any 29'er 135mm / 100mm wheels to test clearance?
-
• #18074
yes, front is thruaxle tho

Does anyone know the diameter of the damper body on a Rockshox deluxe shock? The bit that slides inside the air-can as the shock operates.
Briancon. A real town for the interseason, far enough south for good MTB for a while yet, often gets good early season snow. I want to live there.
