Surely there is a walk down the last 500 metres if not last 1K to identify (and mitigate) risks to the riders? It was a bloody brave sprint but was 1/2 second from catastrophic.
Exactly, that's what one would expect. I really can't get my head around it. Any narrowing of the available road in the last 1K is unacceptable, especially on a flat run-in with speeds around or over 70kph. Mind blowing.
