I quite like older TTs, the rounded lines aren't aggressive enough for full prick points. Unlike the later versions. They came in some nice colours too. If you bought a nice one you'd get my approval.
Are you sure you don't want to be able to carry bikes though?

Oh man that TT is tempting. Proper golf club points. I started out looking at TTs but I stopped after a while because I didn't think I was that kind of prick, but I am big enough to admit that I am 100% that prick. And good shout on the ULEZ filter - I've been using the date filter but I'm sure I'm missing out on some good ones by doing that. Will refresh search.
@grams that's a good point. I did see a 1.8t petrol Saab so that's much more doable. I've always had such a soft spot for them, proper crumpled linen architect hip.
@christianSpaceman that's exactly what I felt when I drove the Focus - much more distanced from the road. Which I think would be very reassuring on the motorway, but it felt like being a bit blind in the city compared to the Polo / Golf, especially when parking.
