    I really liked my front rack with the nice light integration, and the snapit system seems great.

    If the same people make them as tubus they have to be good.
    I would buy Racktime for utility/city bikes that get abuse and Tubus for touring bikes that get treated well.
    Racktime is Alu, cheaper, I guess made in asia and has that snapit thing.
    Tubus is steel, more expensive (they make a titanium rack) probably still made in Germany and has no funny stuff like snapit.

  • Thanks for that explanation. I hadn't actually realised the materials differ when I was looking last night.

    The snap-it stuff would be handy for my town bike, but this rack is destined for my Croix de Fer, which might see a bit more milage from touring etc with just panniers.
