It’s an odd one, what is clear is that Rolex sell their output, and are financially healthy so it suggests that their plan is working.

Almost all of the value in their watches come from scarcity. Say what you want about them being great timepieces, lovely movements etc... People want because they're wanted by everyone.
It's a fantastic strategy and they need to be really careful to properly calibrate supply with too little demand.

Currently into a dilemma, owning a Submariner 14060M that I just adore, I’m looking at the 50th anniversary sub, and the Seiko SLA017 since a while..
But I cannot get them all, should I sell the 14060M and go for the LV, or just leave the LV, keep the 14060M and add the SLA017 to my watchbox ?
SLA017 is less common, less recognizable (wich is great for dayli wear IMO) and more affordable, on the other hand, LV price are increasing quickly, and find the right example will become harder and harder..
Thoughts ?

Very tricky .
I might stick -

Question. Do you need a date on the dial?
If not stick. If yes then twist imo.

@Ordinata in fact I love the simplicity/symetry of the 14060M, date isn’t a necessity, and I also own a 116610lv (got it new)
But I’m more into the 5 digit case, feels better in terms of proportion IMO, also really love the black « maxi » dial of the Kermit combined to green aluminum bezel (particularly love the olive/lemon shade, more than the traditional grass green)
As I got the « Hulk » new at retail (and you know how hard it is..) I don’t feel selling this one..

If the hulk has a black face then too similar imo.
If not then flip it. 😜
Need some variety so stick and get the Seiko or equiv.

that has a fish for a second hand.
How about a bike? You like bikes, right?
Putting the tacky into tachymeter.

Oh come on what could possibly go wrong with a watch maker with a bit of a cycling tie-in?

• #47488
If it was an aerospoke on the other hand...

Shit I quite like it.

Have you seen the second hand?
-
• #47491
I think that might be the bit I like. 😎
-
• #47492
I didn’t think that was too awful, but then I didn’t clock that the second hand a bike stuck to it!

Odd request... I have an Apple Watch with the Nike sports loop - it fixes with a hook and loop section on the end - this.
I like it, and wondered if there is something similar for a more traditional watch (currently a Citizen Eco-Drive), but haven’t been able to find anything.
All of the Velcro straps I found are hideous and don’t look as though they will work as well. Any suggestions?

There are strap with a build in spring bar removal that allow a quick changes, which is the only one I can think of.

If you get the LV will you wear it or keep ir safe as an investment? If you want it to wear it, then get it. If not get the other two

Not exactly the same, but the Erika (elasticated nylon) straps would be similar in function.

That looks interesting, thanks.

Well played.
Given a 10 year wait, one might as well save some pennies up and go for the solid gold version.
