Keep in mind you need the GRX front derailleur in this case, because of the 2.5mm wider Q-factor to make more room for bigger tyres.

Guessing it's a question of getting it low enough on the frame to accept the smaller ring?
Yes. On my Camino Ti the bottle boss was in the way so had to use a braze on mech and slotted clamp (using 6800 rear mech and RS685 shifters). Obvs if didnt already have FD8000 mech would have bought a GRX front.
