Him and John Peel get a pass for some unknown reason.
Just done some depressing reading re: Bowie sleeping with underage girls, then seen your post and did the same for Peel. Wedded an American girl when he was 25 and she was 15, had a 3 month affair with another 15 year old when he was 30 - it particularly hits home as I'm 31 and even the students round here seem like children. Fuck sake.

Nah, but seeing as he was so prolific even if half His stuff was shit you’d still be left with plenty of good stuff.
I saw him back in ‘93 (?) in Sheffield and as someone who dabbled in electronic music from about ‘85 I was gobsmacked, I had no idea how he was making the sounds he did.

most of it is just fucked up random button pressing. I definitely don't get it.
It's funny, I was listening to this set last night and was particularly enjoying the unpredictable nature of it. Although you definitely need to be in the right mood for it and it clearly won't be for everyone.

Sheffield in the late 80s and early 90s would have been m a d.

And Phil Hogan in the Guardian writes this about Peel "As for being interested in schoolgirls, well it is true that about a hundred years ago he once married a 15-year-old by accident, but, come on, that could have happened to anyone - especially in the 60s."

That thing. You know that thing? That long held belief of yours. That opinion based on your own set of experiences. That band. That song. That place. That thing. One of many that you hold near and dear as part of your own identity, part of your sense of self. That thing that is an important cultural reference to your time and space continuum. that anchors you to your own past and triggers memories of large swathes of your lived life. That thing. Your thing. I never 'got' your thing.
Lengthy reply explaining why you really, really should be getting that thing, my thing, that I get and enjoy.

Or a solitary example that the other person accepts isn't terrible, inserted by someone unrelated to the conversation just butting in.

Put on selected ambient works 85-92 and listen to it.
