FC-M520) on their way. As far as I can understand, according to Good old Sheldon brown I should be aiming for 121mm
Sheldonbrown says 118mm for M520, which sounds about right to me.
Unless you have a very wide bike, crank clearance is not going to be your problem, usually the limiting factor on cranks like that will be clearing the middle ring
I’ve got to buy a square taper bottom bracket for the first time in forever and I have no idea what I’m doing.
I have a pair of exage 300 triple cranks (FC-M520) on their way. As far as I can understand, according to Good old Sheldon brown I should be aiming for 121mm spindle length, in JIS, the bottom bracket shell on the frame set (a Giant Granite) I haven’t measured to be sure but I assume it’s 68mm.
Can anyone confirm I’m reading this all correctly? And how can I be sure the 175mm cranks won’t foul the chainstays?
