Depends on flow rate from the pump and filler tube/fuel tank design as to whether the click is at the full point or not.
You’d have to fill it to the point of fuel being visible in the tube to have any issues with expansion/overflow/etc. Not sure where the takeoff point for the vapours is but I’d imagine the highest point in the system (ie near the filler cap).
I’ve just read that topping off petrol past the “click” can be really bad and potentially fill the charcoal evaporation filter with fuel.
First time I filled the car up, I topped it up quite a bit past the click until it wouldn’t fill any further. Won’t be doing that again but what are the chances I’ve caused some damage?
