  • After years of acoustic only, I'm finally ready to start picking up the electric.

I've always wanted a telecaster or a gretcsh with a bigsby. What's the general feeling on the sweet spot in terms of performance / value for an intermediate like me?

Looking at about £900 tops with a practice size amp. (Probably a Crush 12).

  • Somewhat different to a tele - they’re more of a Gibson style and actually kind of close to the Gretsch 6128, ie mahogany with maple top, humbuckers etc - but these are really nice guitars IMO. There’s also a filtertron style version around the same money in a few colours and a black one with P90s.

I like the look of that Vintera Tele in white blonde, I'm biased though, my Tele is either white blonde or honey blonde and (fun fact) it had a Bigsby installed once upon a time (not by me), and removed (also not by me), so it has some really ugly filled holes in the body behind the bridge.

  • Used Fender Player Series Telecaster (or any used Telecaster really) and a Boss Katana would be my choice, perhaps a Katana Air if for home use only...

Edit: I see I've missed the boat on this, pics of Tele please!

Just seen a lovely white US Tele with a Bigsby for £650 on FB Marketplace. Will try and dig the link out.
