Yeah, every brand should aspire to that, its fantastic, the tyre clearances photos is prefect. detail, attention, care. I would buy one if I needed a new frameset, no issues.
If they care enough to make that document, I would feel pretty comfortable buying one

love the fairlight design document; all those mounts are mildly triggering my trypophobia though
-
• #12382
You wouldn’t want to catch a bollock on one

Only 8 days ago you described Crust as "nonsense". One little "design document" later and £900 low-trail frame with 2.4" tyres is "exceptional design detail and frankly amazing value for money"

It does look good though, my flatmate has the Faran 1.0 and it pretty much fixes all his complaints, and Dom was great to deal with

• #12385
That must have taken so long to compile, really interesting.

A CDF 853 frameset is about the same price, as is a mild steel daft geo surly....
It’s not bad value is it? It’s just not cheap.

Isn't this the whole point of lfgss / forums / the internets / life?

Fairlight need to get a better sub though...
The stiffness in the horizontal plain is equivalent to that
of a 30mm tube, while the narrow 20mm tube in the vertical
plain means it provides excellent comfort, -

you described Crust as "nonsense"
I stand by this. I mean its fine but if you import one its just so expensive.
-
• #12392
If I get a Crust delivered to a friend in the US, can he post it to me avoiding fees? or do I still pay import on a gift / second hand item?
-
• #12393
buy the fairlight
-

Makes me want a gravel bike. Then I take a reality check. There is no gravel in t̶h̶e̶ ̶U̶K̶ England
plenty up here

I looked into this when I was looking at American Ti frames. You'll almost certainly still get hit with fees.
-
• #12396
Well it wouldn't really be a gift or second hand, would it? Expect to pay, but you might get lucky.

You leave my Island alone plz

I've got a feeling the paint scheme isn't going to live up to the original photoset.
-
• #12399
Do you want to ride it or look at it?
I bought a Fairlight in what I guess was 2nd or 3rd choice colourway, mostly because it had a shorter lead time. Can't say the paint job has affected the amount I ride it in any way. If the paint is a big deal, buy anyway and have resprayed later? The finish on mine is still good with lots of nice details.

or instagram it
Fairlight looks verrrrry nice. What do people reckon to the different build options? Was looking at a Surly Midnight Special but this seems to be a much better spec and perhaps a slightly more refined frame for similar-ish prices?
