  • How to convince a non-cycling wife / husband that cycling with their precious offspring on the roads is safe? Feeling hopeless for the future of utility cycling in the UK.

    Until is see as safe for the majority of people it's just a non-starter.

  • not sure you can. only way you can is by taking offspring out onto the roads and making it a natural daily occurrence, this is how we travel. Hopefully if enough parents do this, the visbility of it makes it more acceptable for other parents to do it.
    I'd be more worried about the cost of it myself, and the infrastructure to support people continuing to use cargo bikes

  • Well it was the cost that got us talking. Looking at electric cars and doing spreadsheets investigate the cost. Looks like owning a cheap car outright, even tax, fuel and maintenance is around 20k for the next 6 years.
