  • The risk profile of cargo bike riding with kid is totally different to a road ride or gravel ride, I'd say.

    This * 100.

-On a road bike in bike gear, I'm a target. A certain demographic of drivers has it in their head that they have to do something as they drive past, be it a deliberate shitty cut up, a fly by, yell something etc.
-On a mountain bike in the same bike gear as above, I'm less of a target. Can't explain this one. I guess they see the bigger bike and assume I'm bigger?
-On a cargo bike in the same bike gear as above, I'm almost no target. It's a big unit rolling down the road and 99% of people give you a way wider berth than normal. The only people who give you grief are the sort of people who have to mock out loud on things they see that are out of the ordinary. With a child seat on it, you get more space. The sorts of people who are going to do it anyway, start their shitty manoeuvre but spot the child seat and 99% of the time back out of it. The spineless cunts.
-Child seat on road bike is ok but some people have a bee in their bonnet about it and feel like they have to do something when they pass. Child seat on mtb is better. Again, don't know why.
