They just put France on the quarantine list- from 04:00 am on Saturday. Looks like I’m staying at home for two weeks when I get back.

Check your insurance, because FCO now warns against "anything but essential travel" to France. I am in the same boat, wondering whether to cancel (due to leave tomorrow evening). The quarantine rules are really strict e.g. they state you're not allowed out of the house even to walk your dog, seeing as my wife has a horse she has to muck out & feed twice a day at a yard in the next village (/golf club) this could cause a problem :(

Presumably from 4 am on Saturday though? Wondering if we leave Friday night our insurance would be ok. No insurance would be a problem.

Luckily your wife can go to see her horse as an eye test.

Yeah, I don't actually land in France until 8am Sat. Reading the small print as we speak. TBH the quarantine rules are more of an issue for me as I'm not going downhill MTB ;)
