That's spot on. It doesn't seem to matter what grain or finish you throw at a guitar, I don't think you can beat a white Fender

I'm fast approaching the time to finalise the colour choice for my Urquhart Leo bass... I'm interested to hear what everyone else would go for just in case someone has a great idea I didn't think of :)

Body shape is the same as the guitar version in these photos, fingerboard is maple, body is alder.

Saw this combination the other day and liked it... maple fretboard with black scratchplate and olive green body.

Could be a nicer green than that. Or silver maybe.

I have been considering Sherwood Green Metallic, Dakota Red, Olympic White, Black or 3-Tone Sunburst...

So I've been looking for a replacement Fender Coronado pickup for the flame guitar that I can have modded to my specs, not an easy thing to find and probably a bit pointless buying one to rewind if it's gonna sound pretty much the same... Soooooooo...

What are the lowest profile pickups that'll work inside this cover? Is there such a thing as a super low profile P90? Does the Dearmond sound a bit pish because the magnets are so short? Is that even science? I have no idea... All suggestions welcome, it's a great guitar but would be amazing with a low output P90 in there... The Dearmond sounds really gutless even tho' it's quite high output, but it was originally a neck pickup so... 🙄

On second thoughts, forget it... Just had a play on it and I don't have another guitar that sounds anything like it... It's a weird but totally usable sound, gonna leave it as is... 🙃

Been teaching myself moar (grand)dadrock this week. The latest party trick is Black Dog in all it's widdly glory. It's another installment in the well-worn pattern of rectifying the "i've known a vague approximation of it for thirty years but never bothered to learn past the first riff" situation. It' all pretty simple but once you get the little details it's really satisfying. As with previous cheese rock learnings, I can't imagine it'll ever get played outside of the rehearsal room but man, i do look forward to rocking it in rehearsal with my Bonham acolyte buddy. HE'S A BABY! etc.

Big fan of Capri Orange here. Always wanted a Strat in that colour (with a black scratchplate and rosewood fingerboard).

Funnily enough I re-tuned my guitar (B string up a tone to a C... eek!) to learn The Rain Song for the first time yesterday. Got the basics down and just need to work on some twiddly bits. Sounds lovely, although I'll never get to troubleclef levels of embellishment. :)

Led Zep were a guilty pleasure when I was in my early twenties (so not punk rock), I used to love playing Friends on an acoustic, such a great song and really fun to play...

Olympic white is a classic but I think it may look better with a rosewood board?

My bass is Sherwood green metallic with a maple board - it's not the colour I originally looked for but it certainly stands out!
