Either skip Barnes rail bridge, or better, go south west over Putney and immediately back on the (kept secret until now) Putney rail bridge to get you right for going south again on Wandsworth.

This looks to be the way.
Will do a reccy of the Hammersmith to Putney route for the group, Fulham Palace Road is the direct route but can be busy. Will see if the river path is a good surface one evening next week.

There's a cluster of 3 bridges down the road. Teddington lock, Twickenham a316 and Richmond bridges.
