I normally ride Cwmcarn on my 29er hardtail as quick get fit loops so normal stick to the Twrch and Cafall with only a couple of off piste or random cut/built trails. Yesterday though I’d been wanting to get out on the Enduro bike and through myself down something. Pedalled you’re the to and up to the Y Mynydd DH trail. Not ridden it before but plenty of folk had told me there’s nothing that not rollable and no kickers to big gaps.
Had a whole load of fun but wish I had someone to follow for speed/line choice as was too heavy on the brakes at times which only made things harder than if I’d carried speed and did have a couple of nervy moments.
Anyway, will definitely have a blast again and will definitely look to book with Cwmdown for uplifts when they restart.
What is the y mynydd track like? Been eyeing it and pedalhounds up for a while, but bravery and availability have never quite aligned. Not helped by being advised by the bloke in the shop that 'you can properly break yourself on y mynydd'.
