  • @t-v I used to work for Stelbel so perhaps I could give you a bit of info. They don't indeed have a history working with ti but the frame builder is highly experienced, who produces steel/ti frames for a few Italian brands.

    There's a lifetime guarantee on workmanship and as @Lolo says I'd recommend reaching out to them, they're top fellas and passionate about their brand.

  • Man. Every time I go on their site... the Inox is straight 🔥 the panto makes me want one so, so bad. Maybe I should start collecting classic Italian road bikes like @Señor_Bear 🤓

    I do understand the concern though. The main reason I posted the builders I did is because of their Ti track record. Seven will do bendy stays. Not quite as bendy as a DeSalvo or SV, but bendy.

  • I did a mix of customer service, website copy and website maintenance. The brand was revived in 2013 by two guys based in Bergamo and is run to the same manufacturing standards set out by the founder, Stelio Belletti, who is regarded as the pioneer of tig welding.

    The frame builder is based in Veneto, with over 40 years experience, producing frames brands such as for De Rosa, Mason & also Cinelli.

  • When I was narrowing my build down I had extensive discussions with Brad about the branding. He was happy to build it as an Eriksen frame if I wanted but intends to phase that out this year and exclusively build under his brand. I'd imagine he'd be flexible on type face / logo though. He came across as a really nice guy and if its welding and craft perfection you want you can't beat him. The only reason I didn't go with him was the import taxes.

  • Spoke seriously with Bingham, Moots, Enigma and Sturdy but also exchanged a few emails with others.

    Tom (Sturdy) and Brad (Bingham) were the best on email comms and the most detailed in their replies.

  • Joe Walker at Enigma is doing some seriously nice work on the UK-built stuff. The OTP lower end models are made overseas I believe, and are still very good, but some of Joe's work is top notch.

  • Enigma recently did a brilliant job replacing the chainstays on my Etape.

  • Kelly Bedford was a builder I hadn't looked at before you mentioned yesterday. What research did you do on him? Did you go so far as speaking too him?

  • No. None of the above.

    Did speak to a guy on the PL though. He’ll build a bike as good as a Kirk, but out of any material. Think that’s his main appeal versus a Kirk.

    Also just remembered that his frames are welded by Andy Keech, who was head welder at Serotta. But brazing and lugs are Kelly himself.
