are there any other wide 50cm plus drop bars out there other than Curve Walmer bars? Keen to try them out on the gravy bike.

The pickenflick will be great - my favourite bike. I currently own 3 Surlys (big dummy, karate monkey and a Puglsey) and had a cross check but the pickenflick is just fantastic.
I also have a Moots, Cannondale Slate and a Storck TIX but have a really soft spot for the pickenflick. I run mine on 650bs with a WTB horizon on the rear and WTB Byway on the front

Good to hear! Aiming to complement the current 700c road wheelset with a 650b gravel set

Nitto gravel (M137SSB) also come in 54cm as well as the above mentioned options. They are one of the only wide 31.8mm silver options apart from crust.

Reasons for getting a gravel bike:
- It annoys mountain bikers.

Tell me about it. I did one of the easier routes by our local mtb tracks on my road bike. It was basically a dead easy mix of hard gravel and smooth single track. Went perfectly well but it sure pissed off the mtb-ers, which just added to my enjoyment.

Mainstream? Ewwwwwww

I will never ride a short stem and "slack" geo on anything other than a MTB. Don't care if Prolly is saying it's the future

• #11965
Yeah, that looks gash.

It’s wrong. Everyone knows it.
Don’t listen to anyone who refers to bike geometry as ideology. Geometry and ideology are mutually exclusive.
-
• #11967
Using the word ideology in relation to bike geometry is peak radavist wanky

did the seat tube melted

The frame is now as long as some flat bar XC bikes and then you get the extra 10-15cm of length from the drop bar + hoods. Doesn't really make sense in this context
-
• #11971
It's just a 700mm bar with back sweep and a 35mm stem away from perfection.
-
• #11972
Not suspension corrected though.

Including an MTB with drop bars?
-
• #11974
Those just shouldn’t exist

But Tomac.
https://kidsracing.co.uk/collections/self-build-bike-kits/products/self-build-bundle-hup-evo-drop-bar
With 700c wheels, price comes to near 900, as a self-build bundle. Choosing certain components. 1x with mech-disc brakes. Would be nice to have the JuinTech but that bumps up over budget.
Can take 700x38 or so, or 650b x 42.
If one of the frames had about a 360-365mm reach, you could run an 80-85mm stem.
