Yeah, my point is kinda, why bother with a fancy solution that leaves it open to water? If you have to fill the bastard with silicon and cover with electrical tape then why not just silicon a little stick in place and cover with tape anyway?
It's SLIGHTLY nicer looking than a blob of silicone and works better (I tried sealant first). For the small price it seemed reasonable. At that time though, I'd not been offered a discount to get a new unit by Garmin
