That top option doesn't look waterproof at all. I think I prefer the options that cover the whole gap. I'm still just using mine inside and turning it on with a pen. 1030 does proper rides now.
It's not even remotely waterproof. As I said, silicone. And then maybe a bit of electrical tape then a case to hold it all together. Mine is just a backup unit for if (well, when), the 830 has a problem.
Yeah, my point is kinda, why bother with a fancy solution that leaves it open to water? If you have to fill the bastard with silicon and cover with electrical tape then why not just silicon a little stick in place and cover with tape anyway?
