Hmm maybe it is. I guess unless it’s actually for the aero benefits then I’d rather have same depth front and rear.
I was planning on using surly ultra new hubs because there isn’t a huge choice of matching hubs that come in fixed 120mm rear and front disc (that don’t cost a million pounds) and AFAIK the lowest they come in is 32h. I want the wheels to be pretty solid as they’re going to be doing 120+ miles a week across London and not too concerned about weight because it’s fixed.
@miro_o Hmm not sure I could deal with having different rim depths front and rear, think it would bother me more than the asymmetrical/symmetrical. Maybe I'll just go XR26 front and rear. 4mm more aero too ;)
@gbj_tester Yes I am intending to use same hubs and I am inclined to trust you if you say it will look fine.
I don't feel any closer to a decision however.
