CX is underrated. I remember sitting in a GTI turbo at a classics auction... Love the styling inside and out. Sold for virtually nothing given its condition.

Classic 90s graphic designer car, my old AD and Art Editor both had them... Beautiful things, always at the mechanic... 😁

Booked the car in with Dynotorque, they'll pull the subframe, blast it, do any repairs required, powder coat it, replace all the bushings, do any other work required whilst they've got the car apart and then put it all back together again.

yeah totally underrated. at the Anglia Car Auction in June there was a 1978 lhd CX Pallas. it stole the show for me - though we were there to view a different car for the missus. obvs with Covid couldn't sit in it but we were allowed very close look and it was in fantastic condition.
it went for just over £8k. it is now listed on carandclassic at around £14k. auctions are just full of dealers looking to flip I suppose.
and timing wrong for me but keeping an eye on market until next year

Turned out I had two screws in the one tyre, both fixed, tyre refitted, £14.

Cheapest car repair ever?

It's (pleasantly) surprising, I don't think I could get a bike tyre repaired for that.

Tell them there is a whole forum that needs pictures

Hah! Well, you might see it in the background of one of their YouTube videos.

Dynotorque
These guys look great - oh how I'd love to do something like this to my V50.

Even the railings are period ;)

Wow that is a big price hike. Especially for a left hooker.

I bet they asked for £14 and, without blinking, dammit wrote out a check for fourteen hundred.

Yes good move that, Craig is extremely handy. Dangerous though, you could come away wanting to drop an LS into the back of something! Try and blag a ride in Phil Morrisons 964 while you are there.

Dangerous game you are playing now, in a good way.

Once I’ve finished the 911 I’ll ask Craig to put a V8 of some description into a 240 estate.
Too much work (and cost) in the 911 project to take on a second at the moment- the C55 is meant to be the sensible, stock vehicle. It doesn’t seem to have listened to that though.

"Bad 5+ litre V8 performance car! Naughty boy!"

It's an estate! With a roof rack!

Just had a wonderful addition to the toolbox:
I had no idea these things existed until a few days back. Spent hours fighting a rounded rusty bolt, popped one of these on and it was off in a minute.

Did you use them on a rachet or rattle gun/impact driver?
Was it on your MX5 exhaust?

I was watching that - nearly bid on it instead of the DS! I think it was an italian import originally. Lovely.

thanks :)
You might see mine in Bath soon as i'm just down the road in BOA
So good. I'd love one, in two tone. Electric blue with a cream/white top. Teal blue velour interior to match
