Thanks @SideshowBob, @TW. Since that comment I hooked up a velcro strap to my bidon and it worked well. Relieves the grip, but yes at some point you are carrying an empty bottle which those squidgy ones would solve. The belts look good. On Sunday my short rear pocket was stuffed so full, have to sort a belt thing!

Less annoying to carry than a plain old bidon.

I have a small running rucksack for my run commutes (since I need to carry wallet, keys, ID badge, etc), when I've finished the drink I can stuff it in the rucksack to avoid having to carry it.
