I've got a roller contact point on the lateral run-out DTI, but on the hop DTI I've got a round bar about 35-40mm wide. I think it would be quite annoying having a narrow roller on the hop DTI, especially as I tend to concentrate on hop before run-out, so the rim can be moving around laterally quite a lot at that stage. Pic below.

but all in all it worked quite well.

That's a very good point, will do this. Did you buy it somewhere or did you make it yourself?

Made it myself. It's just a length of alloy bar with the ends rounded off and a hole drilled in it. It's just glued onto the shaft of the DTI with good old JB Weld.
