Impressive improvements.
Does anyone else feel awful on Ramp day, I don't stress about it, just feel drained 9 days after the last hard workout. Might go back to doing my Ramp the Sat/Sunday after. Used to do this back in a world where I commuted in the week.

-22W today, so 40W down on lockdown peak. Going well.

-5w yesterday. Choosing to ignore it as it came after a week off the bike and onto the sauce.

+12% 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

-7 today.. ambitiously thrown in a build plan.. see how long that motivation lasts.

-20w since start of lockdown, which was already -40w from last season. That’s the result of 6 months of only commuting and then 2 months of no cycling post COVID
Think I’ll regain the 20w fairly quickly and then have the rest of year to get ‘race fit’ again. Currently on a tri plan as I’m trying to build running and cycling together.

I personally stopped indoor training about a month or so ago. Did really well after coming back from Girona just before the start of lockdown and was super consistent for about 8-10 weeks and then completely dropped it to try and enjoy myself more outside. I don't think I'll get back on before end of September at this stage.

Today I aborted the scheduled over under session after 25 mins, and then tried a simple recovery ride but could only endure 30 mins.
Motivation and energy completely eluding me. Compounded by the turbo area now being utterly toxic. My wife won’t even enter the garage it smells so bad. The bike is sprayed down with anti bacterial spray every time but the bar tape smells worse than the stinkiest body odour I have ever encountered on the London Underground crossed with rancid donner kebab.
Turbo bike is encrusted with salt and grimness, thankfully I just found some spare bar tape so may strip down and rebuild the bike tomorrow and freshen it all up.

I washed my TT bike's aerobars pads yesterday because it was sitting in the lounge and I kept smelling BO. Neither of us smelled though but the bars did. Bit better after a rinse.

My bars are so bad that the smell is released each time I touch them and when I lift a towel to my face I am overpowered by the stench on my fingers.

I use towels for days before they get washed. Wonder if it's what your bar tape is made of? Or maybe I'm just so used to the stench.

Am really struggling at the moment. Not sure if it is that my ftp is too high and my rest was an aberration. Having moved to the build plan I am bailing on one in two of the over under workouts. Just keep hitting a wall of no energy. Even if I feel it coming and reduce the %age it’s too late.
Am contemplating reverting back to the base phase but using my current ftp. As keeping failing to complete workout sucks and destroys my motivation for the next time.

Yeah, you could turn it down or drop your FTP or change up the plan totally. Depends how many sessions you're failing and what analysis you've done of your recovery. If you've got other shit on the go, you can't give your full attention to suffering through intervals every day. As you ramp up workload you gotta think about eating more. Also, it gets fucking boring and you can't just keep ramping up all the time.

I've given up... anyone wants some codes for free trial hit me up

Oh also, its been hotter again, so if you're like me you probably want to ride outside and it's hot as balls inside with a poxy fan.
Speaking of poxy fans anyone wanna buy a fan?

Started new plan last Monday and have bailed early on 3 of the four over under workouts. But today was a stressful day and I am fat pale and hairy - genetically I am not made for hot weather which probably compounds the issue.
-
• #1343
Interested, what fan are we talking about?
-
• #1344
TR build can be a bit much I reckon. The jump in workload especially right after an increase in FTP can be demoralising.
-
• #1345
From Base to Build? I fucked that off twice this lockdown because it's bullshit.
"Oh, cool, I added 30W to my FTP"
"Oh, now I'm suddenly supposed to be able to hold 10min of fucking how much?!
-
• #1346
Maybe I’ll just redo the base phase at my higher ftp and then consider the build phase in the future. Currently feeling rather demoralised and I am not training for anything other than general fitness and weight loss.

It's a 45cm air circulator, kinda like this but black body and different blades. Can't find the original sales email to see what make it is.
-
• #1348
Yeah just cycle the base blocks if you don’t have a specific target. Could also try the maintenance plan - I’ve never really looked into it but it could be a good fit.

If you're not training for an event/race and are using tr to supplement/replace/complement "just riding bikes" then over unders and interval sessions are probably going to be a right ball ache.
New ramp test today, ftp increased by 12%
Feels like someone has sanded the insides of my lungs
