This.
Companies (I won’t call them brands because they they think that that’s cool) have become extremely rude and bullying in their communication in this digital age. They somehow don’t get it that they just sound desperate and insecure becoming a massive turn-off.
I especially hate the passive-aggressive practice of “maybe later” as an option. NO I don’t want to sign in/upgrade/buy your fucking product.
Websites emailing you to remind you you didn't complete your purchase. I know I didn't complete it, that was a choice made by me when I saw you were about to charge me £3.50 to ship a bottle of ketchup. If you'd been polite enough to show shipping costs earlier in the process like I was when I was building e-commerce sites in 19 fucking 99 I wouldn't have got so far through the checkout that you have my details to nag me about it. What part of the above makes you think I'll be more likely to shop with you in future than I would if you just let it go?
