What about Hewland if you’re going all out? They’re not all sequential either I think? Love the sound of a straight cut dog box. Possibly not for driving to the shops though.

I'd really want helical for a road car, I suspect the sound of a straight-cut gearset would be hugely amusing for maybe 2 minutes, then really annoying.

Probably, though you’ve got a huge chunk of sound insulation that you wouldn’t have with them echoing around a race car - I think the big clunk going into first every time in a car would get to me first.
