I love Star Hill fwiw, always the best way home, especially if you head down Rushmore Hill.

Soz, I thought it was obvious that you would have multiple kickrs

To be fair one is in devon. Which is quite inconvenient.
Have you done a session on it yet? -
• #4081
Yeah it was great. Much better experience in both quality of the turbo feel vs the old direto, and also the rocky business.
Bit hot for it though

Ok, for the pendants amongst us; specifically: Sundridge, Hogtrough and Brasted. I have an aversion to anything that kicks over 15%.
-
• #4083
Although I now have 36/28 on one of my bikes so I might raise my gradient aversion by a few degrees.

• #4084
Sundridge has shade at least, 34-32 for the win

Hogtrough
I absolutely despise that hill. By far the most ugly and boring of the three.
I'd take multiple Brasted and Sundridge reps over one climb of Hogtrough.

Easiest of the 3 as it gets the hard bit out of the way early. Plus the bluebells in the wooded section are beautiful! (When they haven't been flytipped).

Good one for going down though (as long as your brakes work). Lovely view opens up as you come round that final corner.

And the ice after pilgrims when winters are less clement.

This morning was a bit unpleasant.
Have found that my cannondale appears to be faster than my specialized.More testing is warranted.

Anyone do turbo training for individual pursuit? I reckon it’s quite a good match for the kind of efforts I need to specialise for in hill climbing - ~4min well paced but all-out efforts, not much need for repeatability.

I've just loaded TranerRoads Short Power Build into my calendar and it is filled with efforts in the 3-5 minute duration, likely a good starting point.
-
• #4092
Yep, thought that, though general power build makes more sense to me. I expect short power build is geared towards short sprint type power rather than more sustained efforts. I’ve read that pursuit efforts of around 4:30 are 85% aerobic and only 15% anaerobic.
Right now I’ve got general power build > criterium, looking to sub in some more specific workouts in the criterium block.

By way of and update (and a bit of a pat on my own back haha) to this; https://www.lfgss.com/comments/15245922/
This morning I rode out to Box Hill to try better my PB, managed 430w average for 6mins.
Pretty happy that I’ve nearly doubled the duration I can hold that intensity for. Training has been outside more lately and a week on from last weeks Everesting, feels good.
I’ve gone up a little in weight maybe 76.5kg but I’m leaner than I was. Think next step is to try work on my position on the bike on shallower climbs. -

That's big power

I listen to podcasts.

Haha thanks guys, still with the previous caveat I don’t know how accurate it is.
I’m still lagging in terms of speed, 15 seconds behind the true climbers on here, on Box today, but I feel like I’m improving. -

Should be easy to maintain your aero flat riding position?
I totally agree. Clarks is the least worst option.
