It's a phase, he'll grow out of it.

Should have put this in here, just waiting for a frame swap.

Very nice that. Genuine question: what will your new custom bike do that this can't?
-
• #23731
Front rack, porteur and low rider, higher bar position. Low BB, portage handle, design for framebag, 2.3 tyres, etc.
Basically, I don’t need a new bike, I just want something extremely practical and look like it’s dredged from a river.

Sounds like my sort of thing.
Low trail? Custom racks? -

Would. For the lolz.

After your rack crash, I’m not sure I’d be asking for recommendations on suspiciously cheap Chinese parts like cranks
Forum mum.

Sounds like it's going to do all the things (or supplement?) his previous two custom bikes did?

I'd wrap you all in cotton wool if I could

Save the rim brake sticker in front of a disc is like driving a Range Rover and voting Green.

Would love to know where the fork is from on that
-
• #23745
The fork is from Allygn and was delayed due to covid. Otherwise I could have been a happy owner. Ended up with the Bombtrack one instead.

Bikepacking supports to strap dry bags to? Can't say I fancy the look of them for any significant load - they're not triangulated either vertically or horizontally, and the latter means there's the potential to end up in the spokes in case of a bump.

The v-brake version looks like it's a bit better engineered with an additional mounting to the brake stud.
This build has some pictures of bags attached, seems sketchy but looks clean.

Allygn = Fern (+ others?)
Racks looks unadjustable, and disappointing logo is disappointing, but props to the cooperative – be interested to see price point.
