    I take a scientific approach

  • Definitely a good idea to get a set of scales (£5/10 'jewellers scales' will do the job nicely). I've recently been playing around with roasting at home and the amount of space taken up between light and dark roasts of the same mass is pretty significant. You'll see a similar difference when changing the fineness of the grind.

  • I’ve found that grind and dose both need to be done fairly accurately to get any kind of control. Might be a starting point.
