  • Maybe a dumb question but has anyone / do people ever paint walls with a spray gun (HVLP or similar).

    If not why not?

Obvs ppe and equipment requirements > when using a roller but I would have thought the finish you could get at speed would be great.

  • New skirting board has arrived. Identical match. I have some mismatched MDF trims that need to be taken off and binned and new ones made and will adopt the same process.
If you need some custom skirting or door trims etc made, would certainly recommend Champion Timber in Bromley.

  • Overspray gets everywhere.

You'd need to move everything out of the room and cover absolutely everything else. Apart from that, they work really well if you know what you're doing.

Should definitely use an airless sprayer if possible.

  • Tile adhesive works too.

  • My decorator did this. Required a lot of masking/removal of everything that wasn't due to be painted. Makes sense with big empty rooms I guess.

  • I've been painting a lot of stuff over the last couple of months so figured I could re-use the knowledge and equipment to cut some time when painting a big empty room. Going to take some serious masking though.

  • He’s responded...

“Haha wow that is weirdly similar”

    🙄

  • "Wow"

    "Weird"

  • So weird, and only three weeks apart. Spooky.

  • Joker

Next time just build a secret failure weak spot that will detonate after a month - that will show him

  • Were your messages to him DMs? I went on their channel to give his comment a thumbs down but couldn't see it.

Being inspired to make something you've seen someone else do is completely understandable - but failing to acknowledge or credit it is very poor form.

  • yeah.. i cant.. hes definitely hidden your comment..

  • Just coming to that realisation. What a prick.

  • Forum review bomb?

  • If you've got time and can be arsed.

He's improved on my design in a couple of areas so I was quite happy with it but removing the comment is a bit cunty.

  • To add to the weirdness, his name is also Tim.

  • I wrote a comment earlier because I'm pretty and spotted from another account he'd hidden it.

  • because I'm pretty and spotted

    I aspire to this

  • Ha!

  • Pretty but my gosh don't you just know it.

  • I reordered the comments by most recent and it came up. I didn't realise you coule hide comments. But that and not crediting your design is snide.

  • He got a big thumbs down from me.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery etc etc though. Can't believe he went as far as to repaint his wall to match. His skirting and flooring game needs attention however.

  • Can't believe he went as far as to repaint his wall to match.

Yeah, it has to be a direct copy. There are too many similarities for it not to be.

He's definitely more talented than me; the mitred edges, better finishing and routing etc. If anything, it's tempted me into making a replacement with better finishing myself.

Just don't see why people can't credit peoples work. I don't want the global copyright on a rectangle on the wall but everything is too close.

  • Honestly the re-painting the wall is what takes it from "wow shitty content creator steals all their ideas from other people", and other shocking headlines at 11, to being outright weird and more than a little creepy.

    Although this

To add to the weirdness, his name is also Tim.

makes me wonder if it isn't all just an elaborate scam for your to get more views on your youtube channel dun dun dunnnnn.

    :p
