Very achey today I must admit. Definitely feel like I got knocked about a bit.
Headlamp bracket is well wonky. Gave it a bash to more or less forward-facing and quiksteel’d the brake lever and right indicator. Need to replace or completely remove the bracket to get back to shape.
Decided I had to get out as soon as possible to avoid the fear so went for 40 or 50 miles of B-roads and a couple hundred yards of wet mud on the first section of the Fosse Way. Very glad I did, but during the shakedown the rev counter decided to give up.
Felt very strange to ride purely by feel, and a little frustrating when so windy I couldn’t hear the engine. Glad I have the engine idling consistently.
In celebration of consistent throttle response, dirt nap.
Broken brake lever, broken bashguard mount, bent headlamp bracket, snapped indicator, chunky lump of turf under bent mudguard. 30mph all the way home on a fast busy road with Saturday traffic and no front brake. Never again.
