Salad. Not leaves, but the good stuff.
Nuts, beans, seeds, onions, radishes, cheese, red cabbage, avocado, tomatoes. Dressing.
Leaves can fuck off.

Jam? really?

I used to think similarly, leaves were just clutter on the plate.
Now I have a whole veg bed of leaves, and last nights meal was homegrown lettuces (3 varieties), blanched and peeled homegrown broad beans, homegrown yellow courgette sliced into ribbons, mozzarella and dressed with olive oil, lemon juice and zest with salt and pepper. It was so clean and actually really satisfying.
Leaves which have just been picked have so much flavour I am now converted.

I think the carrot infinitely more fascinating than the geranium. The carrot has mystery. Flowers are essentially tarts. Prostitutes for the bees. There is, you'll agree, a certain 'je ne sais quoi' oh so very special about a firm, young carrot.

I didn't fancy jam. I used a little ketchup.
My father used to have Cracker Barrel cheese and strawberry jam sandwiches and he loved it. He was a (baconarian) vegetarian but had a crispy bacon sandwich on a Sunday. -

Ah shit, I forgot how good cheese and jam is, veegz stuff won't cut it for that savoury sweet mash up, at least not the affordable supermarket stuff.

I was thinking a chutney or ketchup would hold more appeal for me!

I love finding lost wallets or purses and returning them to their owners.
I have a 5/5 record so far. 2 still had cards and cash.
The internet has made it easier and quicker, but I still like to pretend to be a detective.
A man tried to marry me off to his daughter after I found a mobile number in a purse full of cash I found. His daughter was about to change the cash for euros to go on holiday. She got her spends back.
I tracked some old codger via a golf score stubb for a course in Ireland.
I was with my son when an old dear dropped her purse, I sent him running after her to return it. He was stoked!!
I have found one this morning, the owner is heading round to pick up now..she didn’t even know she had lost it.
Get those wallets back people it’s like being a stalker but nice

I returned one once and the Lady was ecstatic that although she had her cards and cash nicked they had left the tickets to the Greenwich Theatre Panto.

Some years ago my wife broke her heel on an underground escalator on her way to a night out. A passer by had a spare pair of shoes in her bag, exactly the right size, which she lent without hesitation. She also offered to collect them from my wife's house the next day.

Thought for a second you meant a bone, and how would a pair of shoes help?
-
• #2898
You clearly don't wear heels on a Friday night, unlike the rest of us.

My bad.
Unrelated, do Crocs offer heels? -

Yes, but only in alligator skin.
I love how easy it is to wind up @fizzy.bleach
