  • Key health workers were struggling to get a reliable supply of masks and of decent advice on how/when to use them. A consequence of endorsing wider mask wearing is to increase that pressure.

    Perhaps supply is finally ok?

    Watching the maintained ‘official ignorance’ around masks has been weird.

    Initially your argument makes a little bit of sense but then when you think, hang on, how many infections might've been prevented by forcing public mask use four months ago - the healthcare system would've been under less pressure anyway! So it's again back into the "makes no fucking sense" court.
