Thanks @jday and @ectoplasmosis dibs duly noted. Need some interest in the groupset or finishing kit before splitting. I've checked the brakes and shifting and they all work as they should. Come on folks!

Just spotted that the frame is medium size in case that's of interest for someone wanting to take the whole bike. I've just had the wheels off too, the bearings feel nice and the rims have barely any wear. They might benefit from a quick true if you're really bothered by a mm or two wobble.

Thanks for the heads-up; I have started sourcing bits for a new wheel build so will duck out of the wheelset, but I’ll take the rear derailleur please.

I'll take the wheels cassette and chain if not already taken.
I was recently given a Scott Octane full-susser by a neighbour to fix up and pass on. It dates from about 1998 (Scott catalogue here) and has some decent retro bits on it. Unfortunately the swingarm is cracked where it clamps onto the pivot bearings. I don't have the time or shed space to keep it while I locate a replacement, so I'm happy to pass it on complete for someone else to renovate or break up.
I think this was only used for commuting, so the drivetrain is in decent shape and the rims are still dead flat. Mix of LX and XT parts for the 3 x 8 drivetrain, Avid brake levers and Shimano LX V brakes. Wheels are Mavic x221 on Shimano LX hubs, the tyres hold air, but the front needs replacing as it's starting to fray and bulge. 26.8 seatpost and nice wide alloy risers. Would make a nice donor bike for a 26" retro or functional daily build.
PHOTOS HERE Not sure how to price this how about £100 for the whole thing given the quality of the parts.
Let me know if you're interested in taking the whole thing or want the wheels or substantial amounts of the drivetrain. If I get enough interest in bits I'll take the time to split it.
