70’s watches in general are pretty good value propositions. Cheap as chips on eBay for great condition automatics from decent brands - you’ve just got to be into the styling. Any particular reason you chose this model?
If it was just the look you were after I’d go fishing on eBay and wait for something in half decent condition to come up sub £50 and just wear it but if you want advice specifically about buying nice vintage then focus on:- Dial condition (Original and undamaged)
- Case condition (Unpolished with factory brushing/polishing visible)
- Original Hands
- Lume condition
- Original Movement (Servicing is good but question who did it, most of these cheaper vintage pieces are bought by tinkerers who dismantle, squirt some oil around and flip for £150).
- Original Bracelet/ strap and buckle
- Original Crown
Google the model references to find a nice example and compare the details.
- Dial condition (Original and undamaged)

Its like those stupid tiktok vids of a person pointing with a bottle of wine because someone did something offensive.
"A man asked me if he could fondle my boob for a bottle of wine!" "he went that way!!!" pointing with said wine.
So crass. and offensive. Lets all condone horrid behaviours.
And not funny

For G-shock? I’ll damage it easily in the workshop!

Most impulse purchases? Buying the largest number of slight variations of the same watch?

I’m still processing it. The change in material makes it very different. Visually it seems so much bigger than a plastic one, even though it’s not (apart from the thicker caseback). It’s also really testing my personal bling limit.
I do think the price is a bit of an ask as well, the bracelet has that squeaky loose rattle that sub-£100 Seikos have. Having said that, there isn’t really anything else like it, it’s theoretically a limited edition etc, and it is definitely pretty cool. I think I dig it.

The latter would not be me. The former on the other hand...

I agree with everything you just said.
The rattly squeaky bracelet has grown on me a lot. It's so comfortable and easy to size, does heavier and quieter really make that much of a positive difference? Not for me. Has definitely made me question what makes a good bracelet.
As for the bling, I've noticed that it's less shiny after a week of use. Fingerprints help.

Sorry chaps, no screen to do the Torricelli's trumpet effect.

Yeah, I think the bracelet is very well matched to the watch, and it definitely looks the part, I just question the price tag a bit.

I'm the only person who swaps the date format to ISO :D
-
• #46124
Ha. On the non-bluetooth ones you can't swap it. It's fixed to MM/DD. I discovered you can switch it to DD/MM on this one so I did, thinking I'd prefer it, but actually it's just confusing me because I'm used to how it is on my other G-Shocks.

Steampunk CB? I vote no.
Yeah seen them thanks. Its a TicTac Anniversary edition. There isn't a green version, I think you're getting mixed up with the Seiko Alpinist. Thought the other image showed the dial better as the one above looks ore of a browner tone when its more grey in real life.
